Dang: A protest has halted traffic on the Ghorahi-Tulsipur road following a fatal collision between a motorcycle and a tipper on Saturday evening.
The deceased has been identified as 39-year-old Kul Bahadur Basnet, a resident of Ghorahi. The accident occurred in the Saurikula area of Ghorahi.
According to local authorities, the tipper, with license plate Lu 2 Kha 5085, was traveling from Ghorahi to Tulsipur when it collided with Basnet’s motorcycle, Ba 85 Pa 5605. Basnet succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment at Rapti Institute of Health Sciences.
In response to the incident, angry relatives and locals have blocked the road, demanding action against the tipper driver and compensation for the victim’s family.
The District Police Office Dang has apprehended the tipper driver, Shiva Bahadur Chhetri, a resident of West Nawalparasi, and initiated an investigation into the matter.
Efforts are underway to clear the road blockade and restore normal traffic flow.
