A mini-truck accident in Runtigadhi Rural Municipality, Rolpa, resulted in the death of the driver on Tuesday night, July 9th.
The accident occurred at approximately 11:30 pm on the return trip from a vegetable delivery. The mini-truck, identified as No. RA 1 KHA 2131, went off the road and plunged down a steep hill.
According to Devi Prasad Gaire, officer-in-charge of the Hollery Police Station, the driver, 32-year-old Mahesh Thapa from Nigalpani, Runtigadhi Rural Municipality-6, died at the scene. An 8-year-old boy, Sujan Rawat, who was also in the vehicle, sustained minor injuries.
Due to the darkness, the cause of the accident remains unclear. Police are currently conducting a full investigation.
The body of the deceased has been transported to the primary health center for a post-mortem examination. Officials also reported that the mini-truck sustained significant damage after falling 50 to 60 meters down the slope.
