Kathmandu- Thakur Mohan Shrestha, a senior leader of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP), was assaulted by an unidentified group of young men outside the party’s central office in Dhumbarahi on Sunday.
According to eyewitness accounts, Shrestha had just exited a meeting with RPP Chairman Rajendra Lingden when a group followed and attacked him as he was leaving the premises. Shrestha attempted to flee but was beaten by the assailants at the door of the office.
The attack was brought to a halt when other RPP leaders, including Buddhiman Tamang, intervened and stopped the assault on Shrestha. The motive behind the attack and the identities of the perpetrators remains unclear at this time.
