The Weather Forecast Division of Nepal’s Department of Water and Meteorology has announced a mixed weather pattern for the country today. The current conditions are attributed to a combination of western and local wind systems.
Intermittent rain is occurring in portions of the Gandaki and Koshi provinces. The Kathmandu Valley, along with most other parts of the country, is experiencing variable conditions.
Afternoon Forecast
The forecast for this afternoon calls for partly cloudy to mostly clear skies in the hilly regions of Nepal, encompassing the Koshi, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces. The remaining areas of the country can expect partly cloudy to mostly clear skies.
Isolated pockets of light to moderate rain are possible, with the potential for thunder and lightning, in the Koshi and Gandaki regions and some hilly areas within the other provinces.
Light snowfall is predicted in one or two locations within the high hilly and Himalayan areas of the Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Karnali regions.
Thunderstorm Warning
The Weather Forecast Division warns of the potential for thunderstorms in some hilly areas, extending to the Terai region.
