Seventh Body Recovered from Gorkha Landslide

Gorkha: The search for victims of the landslide in Dharche Rural Municipality-5, Singla, North Gorkha, has yielded another tragic discovery. The body of 24-year-old Ramesh Pariyar from Arughat Rural Municipality-8, Lamagaon, was found on Saturday morning, seven days after the initial incident.

Pariyar’s body was recovered from the Rese River, approximately two kilometers from the landslide site. He had been staying at a local agricultural farm when the disaster struck.

The landslide, which occurred last Sunday, claimed the lives of five other individuals: 70-year-old Sulal Kancha Gurung, 37-year-old Jit Bahadur Gurung, 33-year-old Resham Gurung, and 35-year-old Kanchi Gurung. Two survivors, 35-year-old Dilip Gurung and 27-year-old Kham Bahadur Gurung, sustained injuries and are currently undergoing treatment at the National Trauma Center in Kathmandu.
