Veteran Singaporean Actor Raffi Khan dies aged 61

Singapore: Renowned Singaporean actor Raffi Khan has passed away at the age of 61. He succumbed to rectal cancer after a courageous battle.

Khan, who was admitted to Sengkang Community Hospital over three weeks ago, leaves behind a legacy in the local Malay entertainment industry. His son, Mohammad Shaqeer Khan Mohammad Raffi, revealed that his father had been diagnosed with stage four rectal cancer in December 2021. Despite undergoing chemotherapy, the disease progressed, and Khan ultimately discontinued treatment due to the severe pain.

In recent months, Khan’s health deteriorated rapidly, especially after Hari Raya Haji in June, as the cancer spread to his shoulder. His final words to his son were a heartfelt request to care for the family.

Khan is survived by his wife, three children, and seven grandchildren.

A prominent figure in the local Malay soap opera scene, Khan’s most notable role was in the popular series “Gelora,” which aired on Suria in the late 1990s. He also appeared in other series such as “Zakat Zakaria” and “Poskad Dari Alhambra.”

Tributes have poured in from fellow actors and fans alike, mourning the loss of this talented and beloved artist. Khan’s contributions to the local arts scene will be remembered for years to come.
