Singer Rajesh Payal Rai was arrested last night by authorities on allegations of engaging in riotous behavior under the influence of alcohol.
Assistant Inspector General Deepak Thapa from the Kathmandu Valley Police Office disclosed that Rai, along with two others, was detained in front of Madan Bhandari College and subsequently held at the Police Circle in Naya Baneshwor.
Furthermore, in a concerted effort, law enforcement took into custody a total of 172 individuals across the Kathmandu Valley during the same night. The majority of them have since been released into the care of their families.
The police department is also making arrangements to transfer Rai into the custody of his relatives.
