Skywalk Opens in Bhedetar

A new skywalk, built at the popular tourist destination of Bhedetar, is open today. The project, a joint venture between the Koshi Province Investment Authority, Sangurigadhi Rural Municipality, and Dharan Sub-Metropolitan City, has been constructed by Wonders Amusement Park and Attractions Pvt Ltd for 20 crores rupees.

Located on the border of Dhankuta and Sunsari districts, Bhedetar is a beloved spot for domestic and international visitors. It is expected that the skywalk will further boost tourism in the area. The Koshi Province Investment Authority has granted the project a 25-year permit.

The 50-meter-long skywalk tower can accommodate up to 200 people at a time and stands at a height of 100 meters. It is four meters wide and has a circumference of ten meters. Chief Minister Hikmat Kumar Karki will officially inaugurate the skywalk, a project initiated four years ago under the leadership of former Chief Minister Sher Dhan Rai.

This skywalk replaces a previously built tower at Charles Point in Bhedetar. The company behind the project has also constructed similar skywalks in Kathmandu and Ilam.
