A bus operating on the Bhaktapur-Ratnapark route was forced to halt in Naya Baneshwor on Wednesday after smoke billowed out of its engine.
The incident occurred near the parliament building when the bus, bearing registration number 3-01-005 Kha 9554, was en route to Kathmandu. All passengers were safely evacuated as a precautionary measure.
According to DSP Shbaraj Budhathoki of Naya Baneshwor Police, the bus was immediately pulled over upon the detection of smoke. Mechanics were summoned to assess and rectify the issue. Traffic flow has since returned to normal in the area.
