Suman Rai, a 26-year-old resident of Gairigaon, Panchpakhan Municipality-2 in the Sankhuwasabha district, has been arrested on charges of killing his 53-year-old father, Yubaraj Rai. According to police reports, the alleged murder occurred on April 8th following a heated family dispute. During the altercation, Suman is accused of striking his father in the face with a stone, inflicting severe injuries.
Yubaraj Rai was rushed to the district hospital in Khandbari for treatment. However, despite medical intervention, he tragically succumbed to his injuries on March 26th. Following Yuvaraj’s death, the District Police Office Sankhuwasabha arrested Suman Rai on April 8th.
Inspector Ashok Kumar Jabegu of the District Police Office confirmed the arrest and stated that an investigation is underway against Suman for the crime of homicide.
