Spain secured a dominant 4-1 victory over Switzerland in their UEFA Nations League League A Group Four match, despite playing with ten men for the majority of the game.
Fabian Ruiz led the Spanish charge with two goals, while Joselu and Ferran Torres also contributed to the win. This marked Spain’s first victory in the Nations League this season, following a goalless draw against Serbia in their opening match.
Spain took an early lead through Joselu’s fourth-minute goal, and Ruiz doubled the advantage just nine minutes later. However, the match took a turn when Spanish defender Robin Le Normand was sent off in the 20th minute, reducing Spain to ten players.
Taking advantage of the numerical disadvantage, Switzerland’s Zeki Amdouni pulled one goal back in the 41st minute. Despite playing with one fewer player, Spain continued to dominate and extended their lead through Ruiz’s second goal in the 77th minute. Ferran Torres added a fourth goal in the 80th minute to seal the victory for Spain.
With the win, Spain has moved up to second place in the group with 4 points from two matches. Denmark, having won their second consecutive match against Serbia, currently leads the group with 6 points.
