New Delhi, India – March 20, 2024 – Renowned spiritual teacher and founder of the Isha Foundation, Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev, recently underwent emergency brain surgery at Indraprastha Apollo Hospital in New Delhi. The surgery, performed on March 17th, addressed bleeding within the skull. Hospital officials confirm that Sadhguru has been removed from the ventilator and is demonstrating steady progress in recovery.

The 66-year-old environmental activist, known for campaigns such as ‘Save Soil’ and ‘Rally for Rivers,’ had endured severe headaches for a month before the procedure. Despite the discomfort, Sadhguru maintained his daily activities, including conducting the Maha Shivaratri function on March 8th.

After consulting Dr. Vinit Suri, the hospital’s senior neurologist, an MRI revealed massive bleeding in the skull. The situation required immediate attention, but Sadhguru opted to complete prior commitments scheduled for March 15th and 16th.

On March 17th, Sadhguru’s condition deteriorated, prompting his admission to the hospital. A CT scan showed an increase in brain swelling, necessitating emergency surgery. The procedure was conducted successfully by a team including Dr. Suri, Dr. Kumar, Dr. Tyagi, and Dr. Chatterjee.
