The first spoilers for chapter 1137 of ONE PIECE will soon be available online. Before discussing it, however, let’s do a small summary, where were we left with the previous pages, those of chapter 1136? Saul showed our heroes the Owl library where Ohara’s lost knowledge is kept and immediately afterwards the crew was taken to the center of the island to celebrate with the giant people. There they met Jarl Barabamontuosa who tells them important details about the backstory and especially about Nika and Joy Boy. What will happen now?
Chapter 1136 revealed many important things about the past world of ONE PIECE. While the celebrations continue, Jarl Mountainbeard begins a short dialogue with Luffy and the others by explaining some of Elbaph’s habits and customs.
It emerges that the ancient writings of Elbaph are uncertain about the role of the Sun God in their culture, in fact there are those who say he is the god of liberation and the god of destruction. In both cases it takes the name of Nika, the name from which Luffy’s fruit takes its name, and is linked to a legendary figure who brought great changes in his time.
He then begins a digression into Loki’s past, how he killed his father and it was all prophesied at the time. Although the prince’s incredible strength put the entire island of Elbaph in turmoil, Shanks intervened to stop him and brought peace back to the island of giants.
The chapter ends with the mugiwara heading to Loki to obtain information on the Red. At the same time, the two intruders, in Loki’s presence, reveal themselves to be two members of the knights of the gods and propose to Loki to free him in exchange for some favors. Loki does not seem to agree but the two intruders take Wolf, his faithful friend, hostage. Loki now seems more willing to make deals…
Spoilers for chapter 1137
While waiting for the official release of chapter 1137 which will take place on January 26th, let’s begin to reflect on what the Elbaph saga has in store for us from now on.
In chapter 1136 there were many revelations about the figure of Nika, and how this figure is shrouded in a mysterious cloud of ambiguity. This is because Nika was certainly a divisive character who, like Luffy, opposed a system and attempted to overthrow it. A character with such a powerful political weight certainly has supporters but also many enemies.
Next we expect new things to be revealed about Loki now that he will likely be freed by the two knights of the gods. This unusual alliance could make things a little complicated for Elbaph, as many have already told us how dangerous and fearsome Loki is. There is therefore a great probability that he could be the villain of this saga.
However, things could also turn in favor of the mugiwara who are heading to him to ask him for information about Shanks, who knows if a common interest or friendship might arise from this exchange. Difficult but not impossible…
