Stoke City have confirmed the dismissal of Spanish coach Narcís Pèlach after just three months in charge.

The Spanish coach has only won three of his 19 games with the ‘Potters’ and after having Stoke City in nineteenth position in the Championship (English Second Division), with 22 points, just two above relegation.

“A talented coach, with great potential”

“Narcís is a talented coach, with great potential, he works very hard without rest and I have no doubt that he will have a great career in the future. But, with the results and the games of recent weeks, we have to accept that he is not the right for the club at this time,” said Jon Walters, the club’s sporting director.

With a background as a Figueres player, Pèllach has trained at Figueres itself, at Peralada and at Huddersfield Town before signing for Stoke City in September of this year.

Pèlach is the second Spanish coach to leave the second category of English football in recent days after the departure of Carlos Corberán, who was at West Bromwich Albion, to Valencia.
