Gulmi: Four municipalities in the Gulmi district have been left without electricity due to a severe storm accompanied by lightning. The Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) reported that the storm caused damage to transformers, poles, and wires, disrupting power supply in several areas.
The affected municipalities include Dhurkot, Madane, Malika, Isma, and Musikot. Some wards within these municipalities have been particularly impacted by the power outage.
Arjun Pokharel, Chief Engineer of the Gulmi Distribution Center of NEA, stated that the 33 KV main transmission line connecting Resunga municipality ward number 5 to Dhurkot rural municipality ward number 5 was damaged by lightning. He added that a technical team has been dispatched to restore power supply to the affected areas.
In addition to the property damage, the storm also resulted in injuries. Two residents of Ammapur Dobata ward number 6, Isma Rural Municipality, 35-year-old Radha BK and 30-year-old Sita BK, were injured by lightning on Thursday.
