Sudurpashchim Province Chief Minister Kamal Bahadur Shah, who heads a minority government, expanded his cabinet by appointing three ministers from the Nagarik Unmukti Party on Friday.
The new ministers are:
- Ghanashyam Chaudhary: Minister of Economic Affairs
- Khushi Ram Chaudhary: Minister without Portfolio
- Indira Giri: State Minister for Land Management
Province Chief Devraj Joshi administered the oath of office and secrecy on Friday night. The move comes after Chief Minister Shah lost support from the CPN-Maoist Center and CPN-UML. It strengthens his position by incorporating ministers from Resham Chaudhary’s Nagarik Unmukti Party.
Chief Minister Shah also plans to include independent parliamentarians Tara Joshi and Khemadevi Bista from the Rastriya Prajatantra Party in his cabinet, further solidifying support for his minority government.
