A fire in Taplejung’s Meringden Rural Municipality on Tuesday gutted two houses, belonging to Harka Bahadur Paluwa and Subas Nalbu. The District Police Office Taplejung estimates property losses at approximately Rs. 1.5 million.
The blaze destroyed cash, food, clothing, and two nearby sheds. This incident is part of a concerning trend, with seven houses burned within the last seven days in the district. Authorities are also battling wildfires in the area.
