A 4.1 magnitude earthquake shook the Taplejung district last night at 10:13 PM. The epicenter of the tremor was near Khejenim.
The National Earthquake Measurement and Research Center confirmed the intensity of the quake. However, there are currently no reports of damage caused by the temblor.
It’s worth noting that the region has a history of seismic activity. A significant 6.9 magnitude earthquake struck the Kanchenjunga Himalayan region, straddling the border of Taplejung and Sikkim, India, on September 18, 2011.
Authorities are continuing to monitor the situation.
