A teenage girl living in a Chhau under the Chhaupadi practice in Achham was raped, according to local police reports. The 16-year-old girl was found unconscious on Tuesday, and authorities have confirmed that she was sexually assaulted.
DSP Santosh Pathak, Chief of the District Police Office in Achham, stated that the girl was rescued from the cantonment area and taken to the hospital. After receiving medical treatment, she disclosed that she had been raped.
Following her statement, the police arrested a 17-year-old boy on charges of sexual assault. DSP Pathak noted that the suspect is a relative of the victim and that they both attend the same school.
