The Buffalo Bills beat the Denver Broncos 31-7 this Sunday, qualifying for the divisional round of the American Conference (AFC). Next week they will host the Baltimore Ravens. In the other AFC division game the two-time champion Kansas City Chiefs will face the Houston Texans.

In this game, Josh Allen, one of the candidates to be the Most Valuable Player of the season, stood out with the Bills, who passed for 272 yards and connected two touchdown passes; and James Cook, added 120 rushing yards and a touchdown.

The Broncos were explosive on their first series. In two and a half minutes they dragged the Buffalo defense 70 yards to a touchdown pass from Troy Franklin to go up 0-7. The visiting defense showed itself at the same level, even though the Bills attack went to the eight-yard line of their field, they stopped them and forced them to only convert three points.

In the second quarter, Buffalo established its ground offense and after traveling 81 yards in 13 plays, it crossed the end zone with a run by James Cook that gave it a 10-7 lead before halftime.

The Bills extended the lead to 21-7 in the third quarter with a field goal and a touchdown reception by Ty Johnson. Buffalo sealed the game 31-7 with another touchdown pass, this time to Curtis Samuel, and a field goal in the fourth quarter.

The wild card round began last Saturday with a 32-12 victory for the Houston Texans over the Los Angeles Chargers, a result with which the Texans qualified for the AFC divisional phase; and the Baltimore Ravens’ 28-14 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers, to also advance.

Two games in the wild card round of the National Conference (NFC) will be played today, Sunday. Tampa Bay Buccaneers against Commanders and Philadelphia Eagles against Green Bay Packers.

The third place in the NFC divisional round will emerge this Monday from the clash between the Los Angeles Rams and the Minnesota Vikings, a game that will be played in Arizona before the fires that have devastated Los Angeles, California.
