Three children, all siblings, sustained severe injuries in a forest fire that broke out near their village in the Su Community Forest of Dolpa’s Tripurasundari Municipality-4. The injured have been identified as Bibas Budha (12), Samant Budha (13), and Suraj Budha (10).

The children were reportedly picking mushrooms in the forest when they were caught in the blaze. They have been transported to the district hospital for treatment, but due to the severity of their burns, officials say they will need to be transferred to Kathmandu for further care.

Tripurasundari Municipality is working to arrange a helicopter for emergency transport. However, efforts to secure a Nepali Army helicopter have been hampered by unfavorable weather conditions in Surkhet.

This tragic incident comes just days after three Nepali Army soldiers lost their lives while battling a separate forest fire in the Mashta Community Forest in Dolpa’s Thulobheri Municipality-4.
