Woman in Kanchanpur

Kanchanpur: A 26-year-old woman, Hiradevi Shah, was tragically killed by a tiger attack while cutting grass in a paddy field in Dodhara Chandani Municipality-2, Kamlasa Toll, on Thursday morning. The attack occurred around 10 AM as Shah was working alongside other women in the area.

The tiger, believed to have emerged from a nearby sugarcane field, dragged Shah away. Despite the desperate attempts of the other women to scare away the predator, the attack was fatal. The tiger later abandoned the body in the sugarcane field.

Shah’s husband, Gopal, is currently working in Himachal, India, and has been informed about the tragic incident. The family is awaiting his arrival before conducting the funeral rites.

The attack has heightened fear among residents, as this is the second fatal tiger attack in the area in the past year. The Shuklaphanta National Park authorities have deployed a team, including elephants, to capture the rogue tiger.
