Tiger Woods, who had not competed since the last British Open, reappeared in a big way this Saturday at the PNC Championship in Orlando, in which he competes with his son Charlie and in which he is co-leader with a total of thirteen under par.

Woods, 48, returned to competition after undergoing a new back operation in September to relieve the pain and spasms he suffered for long periods of 2024. At the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club Orlando, ‘Team Woods’ signed a first round without errors, with thirteen birdies in the 18 holes. It is the fifth time that Tiger has competed with his fifteen-year-old son Charlie.

Tiger’s team shares the lead with the current champions, ‘Team Langer’ formed by Bernard Langer and his son Jason. His brilliant form was confirmed by Langer, who finished the season with a victory in the Charles Schwab Championship.

Along with ‘Team Woods’ and ‘Team Langer’ is ‘Team Singh’, formed by Vijay Singh and his son Qass, who were champions of this tournament in 2022.

The tournament will conclude this Sunday with everything in balance. Behind the co-leaders is Tom Lehman’s team, with his son Sean, and Padraig Harrington’s team with his son Paddy, both with -12.
