Nepal is currently under the influence of the monsoon, with a low-pressure system extending across the country. The weather bureau has issued a warning of heavy rainfall and thunderstorms in several regions.
As of today, the hilly regions, including Koshi and Sudurpaschim provinces, are experiencing partly to mostly cloudy skies. The plains are generally partly cloudy to clear. Light rain has been reported in some areas of Bagmati, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces.
The afternoon will bring partly to mostly cloudy conditions nationwide, with the potential for light to moderate rain and thunderstorms in all provinces. Heavy rainfall is expected in isolated areas of Koshi and Bagmati provinces.
Tonight, the country will experience generally cloudy skies with widespread light to moderate rain and thunderstorms. Heavy rainfall is likely in Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, with isolated instances in Lumbini. There is even a risk of very heavy rainfall in parts of Koshi and Bagmati.
