According to the department, light to moderate rain is currently affecting parts of Bagmati and Gandaki provinces, with isolated showers in other regions. The weather forecast predicts partly to mostly cloudy skies across the nation on Thursday afternoon, with the likelihood of thunderstorms and rain in Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Karnali, Lumbini, and Sudurpaschim provinces. Heavy rainfall is expected in isolated areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim.
The department has advised residents in Koshi, Bagmati, Lumbini, Karnali, and parts of Sudurpaschim to be cautious of potential landslides, floods, and other monsoon-related hazards. There is a risk of disruption to daily life, including agriculture, health, tourism, and transportation.
The meteorological agency is closely monitoring the situation and will provide updates as necessary.
