While most of Nepal experiences generally cloudy skies, scattered rain is affecting some areas. Light rain is currently falling in parts of Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces.
The Department of Water and Meteorology predicts an increase in rain intensity this afternoon. Light to moderate rain with thunder is expected across much of the country, including Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces.
The department warns of the possibility of even heavier rain in some areas. Several locations in Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces could see heavy rain, while one or two places in Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces might experience similar conditions. The forecast is most concerning for Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, where isolated pockets of very heavy rain are possible.
Tonight, clouds will linger nationwide. Scattered rain is again expected, with light to moderate showers in many areas of Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces. Lesser amounts of rain are possible in Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces. However, the threat of heavy rain persists, with several locations in Koshi, Madhesh, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudurpaschim provinces potentially experiencing heavy downpours. One or two places in Koshi, Madhesh, and Gandaki provinces could see very heavy rain.
