The Department of Weather has issued an advisory for the Terai region of Nepal, warning of the possibility of hot air and heatwave conditions due to excessive heat. This comes as the weather patterns in Nepal are currently influenced by local air, western air, and a low-pressure system near Bihar.
While the weather is mainly clear across most of the country, there is a chance of light rain in one or two places within Koshi Province, located in the eastern Terai region. This afternoon and tonight, a shift is expected in the hilly areas, including those in Koshi itself. These regions, along with Bagmati and Gandaki provinces, could experience partly to mostly cloudy skies.
The forecast predicts light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning at a few places in Koshi province and a few places in the hilly areas of Bagmati and Gandaki provinces. Scattered thunderstorms are also possible in Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces.
Tonight, similar conditions are expected to persist in the hilly areas of Koshi, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces, alongside Bagmati and Gandaki.
Residents of the Terai region, particularly, are advised to take necessary precautions to avoid the effects of hot air and potential heatwaves.
