The monsoon system and local air conditions currently influence Nepal’s weather. The eastern provinces, Koshi and Madhesh, are experiencing cloudy skies with light to moderate rain and thunder/lightning in some areas. This is due to the monsoon system’s influence.
The central provinces, Bagmati and Gandaki, are generally cloudy with a chance of rain similar to the east. The western provinces, Lumbini and Karnali, and the far-west province see a mix of partly cloudy and mostly clear skies with a slight chance of rain in some areas.
The forecast for this afternoon predicts continued cloud cover in the eastern and central provinces with a chance of light to moderate rain and thunder/lightning. The possibility of heavy rain exists in isolated areas of the east. Tonight, skies are expected to clear across most of the country, with a chance of light to moderate rain with thunder/lightning lingering in some eastern and central areas. Again, heavy rain can occur in isolated areas of the east and Gandaki province.
