The monsoon system is currently affecting the eastern part of the country, while the rest of the country is partially influenced by local winds and a low-pressure system around Bihar in India. According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, it is currently cloudy in the entire Koshi and Madhesh provinces, generally cloudy in the Bagmati and Gandaki provinces, and partly cloudy to mostly clear in the rest of the country.

Light to moderate rain with thunderstorms is occurring in a few places in the Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, and in one or two places in the Sudurpaschim Province. Today afternoon, there will be partial to generally cloudy skies in the Koshi Province, Madhesh Province, Bagmati Province, and Gandaki Province, and partially cloudy skies in the rest of the country.

There is a possibility of light to moderate rain with thunderstorms in some places of Koshi Province, Bagmati Province, and Gandaki Province, and in a few places of Madhesh Province, and in one or two places of the rest of the country. There is also a possibility of heavy rain in one or two places in Koshi Province.

Similarly, tonight it will be generally cloudy in the Koshi Province, Madhesh Province, Bagmati Province, Gandaki Province, and partly cloudy to mostly clear in the rest of the country. There is a possibility of light to moderate rain with thunderstorms in some places of Koshi Province, Madhesh Province, Bagmati Province, Gandaki Province, a few places of the hilly region of Lumbini Province, and in one or two places of the rest of the country. There is also a possibility of heavy rain in one or two places in Koshi Province and Gandaki Province.

• Day after tomorrow: Generally cloudy skies in the Koshi Province, Madhesh Province, Bagmati Province, and Gandaki Province, and partly cloudy to mostly clear in the rest of the country. Light to moderate rain with thunderstorms is possible in some places of Koshi Province, Bagmati Province, Gandaki Province, and Madhesh Province.

The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has advised people to be aware of the potential for floods and landslides, especially in areas with heavy rainfall.
