Biratchowk: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has predicted light to moderate rainfall on Tihar’s Bhaitika day. The weather has been fluctuating, with sporadic rainfall observed in various parts of the country on Friday.
Meteorologist Sanjiv Adhikari informed that the weather is expected to change significantly on Sunday (Bhaitika). Light to moderate rain is likely in certain areas of the Koshi Province hills and Terai, as well as the hilly regions of Wagmati and Gandaki Provinces, including the Kathmandu Valley. However, these showers are anticipated to be brief and localized.
The current weather conditions are influenced by both western winds and local winds. The department’s weather bulletin issued on Friday evening indicates a possibility of light rain with thunder and lightning in hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki Provinces, as well as isolated areas in other provinces. Additionally, light snowfall is predicted in high-altitude regions of the Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki Provinces.
In light of these weather conditions, the department has advised the public to take necessary precautions as they may impact agriculture, health, tourism, mountaineering, and transportation.
