A tractor number Ja 1 Ta 8044 carrying passengers to a religious festival overturned in Mahottari district, injuring 27 people.
The accident occurred on Thursday afternoon as the tractor was traveling from Dhaboli village to Pipra Rural Municipality to attend the Daha Mela festival. According to police, the vehicle was carrying 27 passengers when it veered off the road due to excessive speed.
Most of the injured suffered injuries to their hands, feet, head, and face. While 26 are receiving treatment at Jaleshwor Provincial Hospital, the critically injured have been referred to Janakpur for advanced medical care.
The tractor driver fled the scene after the accident and is currently being sought by the police.
