During The Game Awards 2025, Splash Damage revealed Transformers: Reactivate, a new game that promised to offer us an experience that would make all fans happy. Although a couple of years passed without information about this project, today we had news. However, the new details are anything but positive, since Transformers: Reactivate has been cancelled.
Through a statement on their social networks, Splash Damage has confirmed that Transformers: Reactivate has been cancelled. This is not all, since the team has been restructured and, as a consequence, a series of layoffs have been carried out. This is what the study commented:
“Today we have some very difficult news to share: the decision has been made to end development on Transformers: Reactivate.
This means we will be scaling back to focus our efforts on other projects. Unfortunately, despite all efforts, several positions at the studio are at risk of being laid off.
This decision was not made lightly and it is a difficult time for the studio and our people. We want to take a moment to thank the team that worked on Transformers for their dedication and passion.
Hasbro was an incredible and supportive partner throughout and we look forward to working with them again. To the many fans, your enthusiasm and support kept us going.
While not being able to see the game through to release is painful, having to say goodbye to friends and colleagues hurts even more. We are now focused on doing everything we can to support them during this difficult period, just as we are committed to caring for those who will stay with us as we build a stronger Splash Damage for the future.
Thank you for your compassion and understanding.”

Splash Damage is part of Tencent, and has collaborated on multiple high-profile projects, such as the Master Chief Collection for PC and Gears Tactics. Unfortunately, Transformers: Reactivate will never reach our hands, and at the moment it is unknown if Hasbro intends to create more games of this property.
Although Transformers: One, the most recent animated film in the series, had great critical reception, the film was not a success at the box office. In this way, it is not ruled out that, along with the cancellation of Transformers: Reactivate, Hasbro will choose to let the series rest for a while. On related topics, Michael Bay was never entirely convinced about directing the Transformers movies.
