On Thursday, a truck transporting petroleum exploration equipment overturned in Dullu Municipality-3, Pali, Dailekh. The accident involved an Indian-registered truck (MP-30017817) traveling from Nepalgunj to a drilling site in Bhairabi Rural Municipality.
According to Khimraj Bhushal, Chief District Officer of Dailekh, the overturn was caused by loose gravel left on the road by a widening project. Two cranes were required to lift the overturned truck.
The incident is part of a larger Chinese-funded petroleum exploration project in Dailekh. A total of 22 cargo trucks have now arrived at the exploration site.
