In a recent interview on X, the social media platform owned by Elon Musk, former U.S. President Donald Trump launched a series of scathing attacks on Vice President Kamala Harris and President Joe Biden. Trump, who has been a vocal critic of his Democratic rivals, referred to Harris as a “radical Left lunatic” and described Biden as being “close to the vegetable stage.”
During the wide-ranging discussion, Trump did not hold back in his criticism of Harris, claiming that she is more liberal than Senator Bernie Sanders, a well-known progressive figure. “She is far Left, like far, far worse than Bernie Sanders,” Trump asserted, emphasizing his belief that Harris’s policies would be detrimental to the country. He further accused Harris of supporting controversial positions such as defunding the police and opposing fracking, despite her recent public statements to the contrary.
Trump also aimed at Harris’s political background, labeling her a “San Francisco liberal” who he claims “destroyed” both the city and the state of California during her tenure as Attorney General. According to Trump, Harris would be even worse than Biden if she were to assume the presidency, suggesting that her leadership would lead to the downfall of the country.
The former president’s remarks come as he faces increased competition from Harris, who has gained significant momentum in the 2024 presidential race. Since President Biden stepped out of the race and endorsed Harris as the Democratic candidate, she has revitalized the party, drawing large crowds to her rallies and surpassing Trump’s campaign in fundraising efforts. In response, Trump has escalated his attacks, aiming to regain control of the race.
Trump’s criticism extended to Biden as well, with the former president mocking the current president’s physical condition. “Biden is, you know, close to the vegetable stage, in my opinion,” Trump said, referencing a recent video clip of Biden struggling to move a light chair on the beach. He questioned why Biden’s advisors would allow him to be seen in such a state, calling the situation “ridiculous” and “crazy.”
As the 2024 election approaches, the rhetoric between Trump and his Democratic opponents is expected to intensify, with both sides vying for the support of the American electorate.
