A tragic incident occurred on Friday in Butwal when two young boys were swept away by the strong currents of the Tinau River. While one boy’s body has been recovered, the search continues for the other.
Twelve-year-old Biwash Khatri from Bareng, Baglung, was visiting relatives in Butwal when he and his eight-year-old cousin, Bipran Pandey from Sainamaina Municipality, were caught in the river’s powerful flow.
The body of Biwash Khatri was found downstream from the incident site. However, despite search efforts, Bipran Pandey remains missing.
Local authorities, including the Area Police Office in Butwal, are actively involved in the search and rescue operation.
This heartbreaking incident serves as a stark reminder of the dangers posed by rivers during the monsoon season.
