Two young lives were tragically lost in Mai Municipality, Ilam, after a drowning incident in the Mai River. The victims, identified as 11-year-old Mingsuhang Limbu and Kisman Angdembe, were reportedly swimming in the river when the accident occurred.
According to local authorities, Mingsuhang was pulled from the water and rushed to a nearby medical center. Despite initial efforts, he sadly passed away while being transported to BNC Hospital for further treatment. Search efforts for Kisman resulted in the recovery of his body.
This heartbreaking incident serves as a stark reminder of the dangers of swimming in unsupervised or fast-moving water. The local authorities have not yet released any further details surrounding the incident.
