Salyan: Two people lost their lives in a jeep accident in Salyan district on Monday evening. The victims, Top Bahadur Sahu (55) and Lali Rawat (55) were traveling in a Bolero Jeep (Ra 1 Cha 1043) from Triveni Rural Municipality-4 Falabang to Luham Bazar.
The accident occurred near Putali Darbar. According to Resam Bahadur Khatri, the Information Officer of the Salyan District Police Office, the jeep driver, Kamal Reule, and three other passengers, Purnakala Basnet (40) and Rabbins (29), were also injured.
Sahu succumbed to his injuries at District Hospital Salyan, while Rawat died at Rapti Health Science Institute Ghorahi. The remaining injured are undergoing treatment at Rapti Institute of Health Sciences, Dang.
The jeep is believed to have veered off the road due to poor road conditions and plunged 25 meters down a slope.
