Two people in Jhapa died after being struck by lightning on Tuesday.
- Bikas Giri alias Lila, 42, of Gauriganj Rural Municipality-8, was struck and killed while plucking rice seeds on Tuesday morning.
- Rajan Khadka, 46, of Kamal Rural Municipality-2 Saragarhi, was struck by lightning while traveling from home to farm. He died during treatment at Amda Hospital in Damak.
The dangers of lightning strikes are a serious concern, especially during monsoon season in Nepal. Seeking shelter indoors or in a sturdy vehicle if you hear thunder is important.
