Jhapa: A fatal road accident occurred at Sodagandhi Chowk in Haldibari Rural Municipality-5 on Thursday, resulting in the deaths of two individuals. The collision involved a pick-up vehicle, bearing the registration number Me 9 Pa 9685, and a motorcycle, with plate, number Me 1 Ja 3261.
The victims have been identified as Prem Prasai, a 30-year-old resident of Haldibari Rural Municipality-5, who was driving the motorcycle, and his pillion rider, 21-year-old Dikesh Karki from Prakashpur, Sunsari Barahakshetra Municipality-10. Both succumbed to their injuries at B&C Hospital in Birtamod.
The driver of the pick-up vehicle, 37-year-old Dipen Rai from Bhadrapur Municipality-2, has been apprehended by the police, and an investigation into the accident is underway.
