Myagdi Landslide

Two people tragically lost their lives in Myagdi after a landslide struck Dhaulagiri rural municipality-7 Takam. The landslide swept away a house, killing Tul Prasad Neupane and his wife Bal Kumari Neupane, as confirmed by Police Assistant Inspector Ramesh Prasad Adhikari of Takam Police Station.

Rescue efforts involving local residents, police, and people’s representatives were successful in bringing others to safety.

The incident coincides with ongoing heavy rainfall in the area. This persistent precipitation has caused the water levels in the Myagdi, Rahughat, and Kaligandaki rivers to rise significantly.

The Department of Water and Meteorology has issued an alert, urging residents in areas bordering the Myagdi River to remain cautious as water levels have surpassed the alert threshold and continue to rise.
