Sindhuli district witnessed a dark day on Sunday as two police officers lost their lives in separate motorcycle accidents.
Ratnawati police station in-charge, Assistant Police Inspector Rabindra Thakur, died at the Sunkoshi Community Hospital Khurkot after a mishap on the inner road of Phikkal Rural Municipality-5 Jhagadebensi. According to police reports, Thakur’s body will be returned to his family in Kamala Municipality-9, Dhanusha, after a post-mortem examination at Sindhuli Hospital on Monday.
The second tragedy struck Police Assistant Constable Surya Kumar Shrestha. Shrestha was critically injured in a separate motorcycle accident within Phikkal Rural Municipality. He was airlifted to the police hospital in Kathmandu for treatment but succumbed to his injuries.
