Two construction workers have been swept away by a flood in Bhojpur district, triggering a desperate search and rescue operation. The incident occurred at the Erkhuwa hydropower project in Salpasilichho Rural Municipality.
The missing workers have been identified as Shyam Kumar Tharu, 26, and Ramesh Tharu, 30, both residents of Barbardia Rural Municipality-3 in Bardiya district. A third worker, Ram Kisan Tharu, 26, was rescued and is currently undergoing treatment for minor injuries.
The floodwaters, caused by incessant rain, have inundated the project site, making rescue efforts challenging. A joint team of Nepal Police and Armed Police Force has been deployed to the area to locate the missing workers.
