Two young boys tragically lost their lives in a drowning incident in Janakpurdham, Dhanusha, on Saturday, Locals attempted a rescue but failed to save them.
Six-year-old Shivanandan Mahato, son of Jay Narayan Mahato, and six-year-old Aditya Paswan, son of Rakesh Paswan, both residents of Janakpurdham Sub-metropolitan City Ward 20 Devpura Rupetha, were found unconscious in the Sahuji pond near their home around 10 am.
According to Dhanusha Police Spokesperson DSP Ranjan Awa, locals bravely attempted to rescue the boys after they were spotted struggling in the water. Despite their efforts, both children were unresponsive upon arrival at the Janakpur Provincial Hospital. Doctors sadly declared them deceased upon admission.
The bodies of Shivanandan and Aditya are currently at the Provincial Hospital Janakpur for post-mortem examination. The Dhanusha District Police Office is thoroughly investigating the circumstances surrounding this heartbreaking incident.
