Ruud van Nistelrooy’s Leicester have found an ‘escape route’ in the FA Cup after seven games without a win and six consecutive defeats, all of them in the Premier League.
The ‘Foxes’, who had not won since the debut of ‘Van the Man’ against West Ham (3-1), have beaten QPR (6-2), from the Second Division, in the thirty-second round of the Cup.
James Justin, author of a double, ‘opened the scoring’ in the 8th minute and Jonathan Varane, formerly of Sporting, equalized in the 18th minute. Leicester, however, led at half-time (3-2) thanks to goals from Stephy Mavididi (35′) and Facundo Buonanotte (38′), both from a pass from El Khannous. Rayan Kolli scored in the first half added time.
The everlasting James Vardy once again put things in the way, with a penalty, in the 51st minute. It is impossible to imagine a better way to celebrate your 38th birthday.
Justin signed the ‘little hand’ in the 63rd minute after a pass from Patson Daka. The ‘set’ was signed by Wout Faes in the 93rd minute with a great goal. He stole 40 meters from the rival goal, advanced to the front of the large area and took a ‘shoe’ with his right foot that slipped into the corner.
