The Department of Water and Meteorology reports that lingering influence from western winds and localized weather patterns will result in mixed weather conditions across Nepal.
Today, expect partly cloudy skies in the hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, while the rest of the country should see mostly clear weather. Light rain, accompanied by thunder and lightning, is possible in isolated areas within the hilly parts of Koshi and Gandaki provinces. Additionally, light snowfall may occur in high-altitude locations within the Koshi province. The department warns of possible strong winds in parts of the Koshi, Madhesh, and Lumbini regions.
Tonight, the hilly areas of the Koshi region will remain partly cloudy, with clear weather prevailing elsewhere. Over the next 24 hours, another round of light rain with the potential for thunder and lightning is possible in the hills of Koshi and Gandaki. Light snowfall remains a possibility in the highest elevations of the Koshi province.
The Department of Water and Meteorology advises residents in the Koshi, Madhesh, and Lumbini provinces to take precautions against possible thunderstorms. These storms could disrupt daily activities including agriculture, health services, tourism, mountain climbing, and transportation networks.
