Vietnam is experiencing a tourism renaissance as international arrivals soar to nearly 10 million in the first seven months of the year. This represents a staggering 51% increase compared to the same period in 2023 and a resilient 1.9% growth over pre-pandemic levels in 2019.

Europeans have been flocking to the Southeast Asian nation, with tourist numbers from the continent jumping by an impressive 47.3%. Asia, buoyed by a surge in Chinese visitors, saw a 57.1% increase, while Australia and the Americas also experienced notable growth.

Despite South Korea and China maintaining their top spots as Vietnam’s largest tourist source markets, the unexpected surge in European visitors during the traditionally slower season is being credited to the country’s welcoming visa policies and effective tourism promotion efforts.

As the world continues to recover from the pandemic, Vietnam’s tourism industry is proving to be a shining star.
