In a shocking incident on September 16, former President Donald Trump narrowly avoided a second assassination attempt by alleged Ryan Routh this year while golfing at Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida. Authorities have identified the suspect as Ryan Wesley Routh, 58, a former resident of Hawaii, who was reportedly spotted by Secret Service agents near the course’s perimeter, armed with a scoped AK-47 rifle.

Routh allegedly crouched in bushes 300-500 yards from Trump, aiming the rifle through a chain-link fence. Palm Beach County Sheriff Ric Bradshaw stated that at such a range, the rifle posed a serious threat. The agents fired at Routh, who managed to flee the scene, leading to a manhunt. He was later apprehended by police on I-95.

This marks the second time in 2024 that Trump has faced an assassination attempt, with an earlier incident occurring in Pennsylvania. Routh’s capture raises questions, especially given his background as a self-styled “do-gooder” who supported left-wing causes on social media. Federal Election Commission records show he donated to Democratic causes, despite having reportedly voted for Trump in 2016.

Routh’s online presence revealed a blend of political disillusionment and conspiracy theories, with authorities now investigating his motivations. Federal charges are expected as the case escalates to a domestic terrorism investigation.

Trump is reported to be safe and in good health.
