The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has issued a weather forecast predicting rain and thunderstorms across various regions of Nepal.
Today, parts of Bagmati, Gandaki, and Sudurpaschim provinces are experiencing light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning. Isolated showers are also possible in other regions.
The department expects cloudy conditions to persist throughout the day, with a high probability of rain and thunderstorms in Koshi, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces this afternoon. There’s a chance of heavy rainfall in one or two locations within these regions.
As the day progresses, the weather forecast indicates partly cloudy skies for the evening. However, there’s still a possibility of light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning in Koshi, Bagmati, Lumbini, Gandaki, Sudurpaschim, and Karnali provinces. Heavy rainfall is a concern in Karnali, Gandaki, and Lumbini regions.
In light of the anticipated heavy rainfall, the department has urged residents in affected areas to take necessary precautions. The risk of landslides, floods, and soil erosion is high, and these natural disasters can disrupt daily life and impact sectors such as agriculture, health, tourism, and transportation.
