The West Indies continued their winning start in the T20 World Cup with a dominant performance against Uganda in Providence on Sunday. After electing to bat first, the Windies posted a commanding total of 173/5 on the board, thanks to a half-century from Johnson Charles (44) and a quickfire 30* from Andre Russell.
In reply, Uganda’s batting line-up crumbled under pressure, as they were bundled out for a meager 39 in just 12 overs. Akeal Hosein was the star with the ball for the West Indies, picking up a fifer (5/11) to ensure a comfortable victory for his side.
This win marks the Windies’ second consecutive victory in the tournament, having defeated Scotland in their opening match. They will now be looking to maintain their winning momentum when they take on the next opponent in the group stage.
