West Indies Set 174-Run Target for Uganda in T20 World Cup Clash

The West Indies batted first and set a target of 174 runs for Uganda in their second match of the T20 World Cup 2024. The match is being played in Providence.

Choosing to bat first after winning the toss, West Indies scored 173 runs for the loss of 5 wickets. Johnson Charles top-scored for the Windies with a knock of 44 runs. Andre Russell (30), Rovman Powell (23), Sherfane Rutherford (22), and Nicholas Pooran (22) also chipped in with valuable contributions. Romario Shepherd added 5 runs to the total.

For Uganda, Brian Masaba was the pick of the bowlers, taking 2 wickets. Dinesh Nakrani, Cosmas Kyewuta, and Alpesh Ramjani each claimed one wicket.

This is the first meeting between these two teams in any format of the game. West Indies won their first match of the tournament against Papua New Guinea, while Uganda bounced back from their opening defeat to Afghanistan by defeating Papua New Guinea in their second match.
